Ibelieve every single experience I had in Saskatoon will be a treasurethroughout my whole life.

I arrived at Saskatoon in the beginning of last September.Saskatoon is a small and unexciting city. Down town is very small, and there are just few places for shopping. However, I enjoyed mylife in such a boring city, because I had good friends there. Peoplein Saskatoon are very warm hearted. Even if my English is not good, they are eager to try to understand

me. Moreover, all the professors I met at the University ofSaskatchewan

were very nice and kind.

The University of Saskatchewan is a very big university. I was inthe English department in the Collage of Arts and Sciences. I studiedin ESL for my first two months. After I finished ESL, I tookGeography, Linguistics, English and Drawing class in the university.Geography was the hardest one for me. The exam was an essay type, andno multiple choice questions. In the midterm exam, I could not showall of my knowledge from my study. Therefore, I did not do well. Iwas very disappointed about my English ability at that time, becauseI studied very hard for the exam, but I could not show what I hadlearned.

However, the professor was always nice to me. He answered all thequestions that I asked, and helped me very much. In the final exam, Idid much better than the midterm, and I finally passed the class.

I took drawing class during the inter session which is a threeweek course after the regular session. This drawing class was verydifferent from any other class I took before. There were no textbooksfor the class. We just kept drawing by using different materials, such as charcoal, ink, pastel and so on. Sometimes, we explainedabout our drawings and discussed about them in the class. Theatmosphere in the class was very comfortable, and all the students inthe class were like friends. I really enjoyed this drawing class.

I strongly feel that it was right for me to chose to study at theUniversity of Saskatchewan. I got to know many people in thisuniversity and in the city of Saskatoon. Whenever I had a hard timestudying or any other problem, there was someone who could help me. Ithink I am very lucky to get to know those people during my life. Those ten months in Saskatoon gave me a great treasure that I willnever forget.

Japanese

Topics

Index

@
